green logistics

"We don’t inherit the earth from our ancestors; we borrow it from our children." (Antoine de Saint-Exupéry)

No issue is currently as explosive at a political, economic and social level as that of climate change, and very few people are aware that it is the natural greenhouse effect which enables life on earth, warming the earth’s surface to an average of 15 degrees Celsius. Without this protective atmosphere, the temperature would drop to minus 18 degrees Celsius. However, our modern lifestyle significantly influences the natural climate system. The concentration of greenhouse gases is today much higher than it has been over the last 650,000 years. Our planet is heating up dangerously quickly. Another focal point relates to the increasingly scarce raw materials. Only we humans can actively counteract this cycle by becoming more aware of sensible, environmentally-friendly solutions.

The social objective of sustainability sees us faced with the biggest challenge of our time. Issues such as overexploitation, CO2 emissions and resource scarcity are being discussed virtually everywhere, with slogans like “think sustainably, act responsibly – for a better tomorrow!”

But what about today?

We know that general statements don’t help anyone, least of all our environment. Particularly in logistics, ecological and cost-effective actions can only be achieved with customised solutions. Our strategy thus follows the holistic approach. We not only maximise a target value, but also optimise a system of seemingly contradictory objectives.
